Internships are often touted as stepping stones to success, with 75% of employers valuing them for entry-level hires. Yet, only 21.5% of students truly embark on this journey. Why the gap? What motivates some to navigate the competitive process while others don’t? What challenges and support systems shape their experiences at each turn?
The secondary research I did with the quantitative data being the statistics and the qualitative data being the interviews, I seek to get a clearer understanding of this. Through in-depth interviews, focus groups, and surveys, we aim to capture the tapestry of this journey – the phase that defines the quest for work experience.
Rather than relying solely on statistics, this research digs deeper, unpacking the intricacies of the student internship experience. By identifying the crucial support systems throughout each stage, I hope this research helps Paragon One equip students with the tools and resources they need to navigate this journey with confidence.
